National Boat Shows (NBS) has launched this years Design a Sail competition at the PSP Southampton Boat Show (11- 20 September). Children from Bitterne Manor School in Southampton honed their creative skills yesterday during a visit to the Show, taking part in the nautical challenge to design their own sail. <o:p></o:p>

Sailing specialist, Rockley Watersports, has become home to the Oman sailing team for six weeks. Based in the Middle East, Oman Sail is a government initiative created in 2008 in a bid to ignite Oman's strong maritime heritage and inspire a new generation of young Omanis to take part in sailing as a recreational and  competitive sport.

Sailing specialist Rockley Watersports will once again show their support for the PSP Southampton Boat Show. This year Rockley Watersports' involvement at the show looks set to be more exciting than ever having teamed up with RS Sailing and Versa Dock to provide free taster sailing sessions for youngsters aged 8-16 years.

Dorset sailing specialist Rockley Watersports is holding hints and tips sessions at Poole Park lake every Thursday evening. Whether you want to brush up on your windsurfing skills, hone your sailing talents or correct your kayaking technique, Rockley's expert instructors will be on hand to help offer advice and guidance.

Brave Jasmine Hallett is setting sail in her very own boat for the first time thanks to Round Table Children's Wish. The nine-year-old from Dorchester has spent the past two years battling a rare form of ovarian cancer and has endured major operations, chemotherapy and regular injections. Now a lifelong dream to learn to sail has come true after the Bournemouth-based charity organised sailing lessons and bought her a sailing dinghy to practice in.

Over the last few weeks Rockley Watersports has continued to build its legacy for 2012 by working with the Poole School Sports Partnership, to get 270 Poole school children out on the water at Poole Park.

Rockley International, the consultancy arm of Rockley Watersports, has won a six month contract to design and deliver the training syllabus for the Turkish Yachting Federation. They were chosen thanks to the high standards at which they operate and the depth of expertise of their staff.

Peter Gordon, owner of Rockley Watersports based in Poole, Dorset has beaten eight other candidates to be elected to the board of National Boat Shows.

British summertime officially began on Sunday 29th March and to celebrate Rockley Watersports held an open day at Poole Park.  Local residents relished the chance try dinghy sailing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and other watersports for FREE and the day saw over 400 people take to the water!
