Dorset sailing specialist Rockley Watersports is again helping to build its legacy for 2012, by encouraging families to take part in watersports. The 12 for 2012 is an initiative set up by the Dorset Strategic Partnership, to ensure that everyone gets the most from having the Olympic sailing event in the South, including embracing increased interest in sport from children and adults alike.

Watersports training specialist, Rockley has launched a brand new training product based at its flagship centre in Poole, Dorset. Rockley Acadmey will focus on instructor training and specialist centre management across the watersports disciplines of Dinghy Sailling, Windsurfing and Powerboating in response to the international demand to increase the sport at a grass roots level.

Sailing specialist, Rockley International, has returned from the International Sailing Federation conference in Korea with strengthened connections to member nations wishing to develop participation in sailing.

National Boat Shows (NBS) has launched this years Design a Sail competition at the PSP Southampton Boat Show (11- 20 September). Children from Bitterne Manor School in Southampton honed their creative skills yesterday during a visit to the Show, taking part in the nautical challenge to design their own sail. <o:p></o:p>

Based in the Middle East, Oman Sail is a government initiative created in 2008 in a bid to ignite Oman's strong maritime heritage and inspire a new generation of young Omanis to take part in sailing as a recreational and  competitive sport.
