Family Holidays - FAQ's


Passport and Health	You are required to have a full 10 year passport in order to visit France and non-EU passport holders may require visas. We will not issue a refund if the customer does not have the relevant documentation. Lost, stolen or new passports will take a minimum of 1 week to replace. Information regarding health matters can be obtained from the Department of Health Leaflet – “Health Advice for Travellers” (T5) which is available from Post Office Counters, your Travel Agent or the Department of Health. You must ensure you have adequate health insurance.
Insurance	Please ensure that you have sufficient insurance cover before you travel.
Currency	We recommend that you carry a small amount of foreign money for when you arrive, however for safety reasons we suggest that you use travellers cheques. Most major credit and debit cards are widely accepted in France.
Special Requests	All special requests should be clearly noted at the time of booking. We will make every effort to comply with all special requests although they may be subject to availability. We need to know about any medication that you are taking or physical disabilities that you may have.
Arrival and Departure	Your accommodation will be available from 1800 on the Sunday of your arrival. Please aim to arrive at the campsite between 1800 and 2100 when a member of our staff will be on hand to meet you. The campsite barriers will be lowered at 2300, so if you arrive later please leave your car outside and walk the short distance to your accommodation. On arrival you will need to go to the campsite reception and obtain a barrier code. You are requested to vacate your accommodation by 1000 on your day of departure.
Extra Charges	A 3 day sailing course can be extended to a 5 day course subject to availability for a supplement of £100. We host a series of social events throughout your holiday which you are welcome to participate in for a small extra charge. Those of you who are attending any of our courses but are not staying with us are also welcome to join in. These events can be arranged and paid for on arrival and will be subject to minimum numbers. No refunds will be given for extras booked and paid for but not used. All major credit cards and UK cheques are accepted.
Facilities	We try to be as accurate as possible with regards to the availability and opening times of the facilities available on the campsites. However due to circumstances beyond our control ie weather, time of year, local regulations or demand, some facilities may not be available – this will particularly be the case outside of high season (July and August) when the campsites are quieter.
Campsite Rules	We ask that all our customers comply with the rules set out by the campsite for the enjoyment of all our customers and other users of the campsite and its facilities.
Entertainment	The campsites organise their own evening entertainment programmes throughout high season such as cabaret performances and a disco which is generally open until 1am. Daytime programmes such as sporting activities can be arranged at the campsite reception. All the activities are subject to demand and may be altered.
Local Activities	Outside of the campsite there are numerous restaurants situated in the smaller and larger nearby towns and villages that will allow you to sample the local French cuisine as well as discovering some beautiful places to visit and explore. For advice and recommendations, please ask any of the Rockley Watersports staff. We also recommend that you visit any of the local or regional festivals or events going on in the area throughout the season. In early and late season some restaurants and local facilities may be closed and although mentioned in the brochure, cannot be guaranteed.
Weather	Weather information featured in the brochure is based on average temperatures of recent years. Please be aware that this is only a guide.
Accommodation	Our Rockley Watersports Chalet Tent accommodation sleeps a maximum of 6 people. They are fully equipped for all your self-catering needs, including a Welcome Pack to keep you going until your first supermarket trip and a full inventory is provided in your tent.
Electricity	Each Rockley Watersports tent has electric lighting and a shaver socket which requires a two-pin converter plug.
Bedding and Linen	Bedding, pillows, sheets, blankets and tea towels are NOT provided so please remember to bring your own.
Safes	The campsite reception has safety deposit boxes which you can hire for the duration of your holiday for the safe keeping of your passport, money and any other valuables.
Barbecues	The La Reserve site has designated barbecue areas around the campsite which you are able to use. AzuRivage has its own barbecue island which is accessible by foot – you must check with the campsite when you are able to go there.
What to Wear	Buoyancy aids are provided. We advise that you bring plenty of changes of clothing as sailing can be a very wet sport! If you own any sailing gear we recommend that you bring that with you, otherwise we suggest you bring shorts and t-shirts as well as suitable footwear i.e old trainers or deck shoes. Please also remember that the sun in France is a lot stronger and reflects off the water so sun protection is essential. Please refer to the kit list on our website: www.rockleywatersports.com
First Aid	Our centres are fully equipped with first aid boxes located in the Rockley Watersports offices on site. All our main safety boats carry a First Aid kit and radio. All our Instructors hold a valid First Aid certificate and attend a health and safety induction when joining the Company.
Brochure Accuracy	The Rockley Watersports brochure is prepared some months in advance. Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the facts contained in the brochure. Circumstances may arise however where certain particulars have to be modified. In these circumstances the Company will make every effort to provide suitable alternatives but will not be held liable for changes made by outside influences. Our staff are often asked for information not contained in the brochure. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that all information given is correct, the Company cannot be held responsible if this should prove inaccurate.
