Weekend Sailing Courses

Rockley Watersports offers activity weekends in sailing, powerboating and windsurfing for both adults and youngsters at our UK based centre in Poole. All our courses follow the RYA modules and are run by fully qualified RYA Instructors. For those of you with the kind of lifestyle that sets your leisure time at a premium we have a range of 2-day beginner, intermediate and advanced courses designed to fit in to your schedule.

Our L1/2 Adult Weekend Courses run every weekend however please ensure you check availability with the office prior to making a booking.

Adult Weekend Sailing Course

Taster weekends for beginners are designed to see if you enjoy sailing. If you enjoy it, and we are sure you will, you can sign up for a 2nd weekend which will enable you to complete the RYA Level 2 certificate. Adults will be taught in our two- and three-handed Wayfarer dinghies where you will learn about the points of sail, boat control and balance and will become familiar with both helming and crewing.

For those of you who already have their Level 2 or are at that level, we offer the RYA advanced modulessuch as Seamanship Skills and Performance Sailing. The Seamanship module will run on the 2nd weekend of each month and the Performance Sailing module will run on the 3rd weekend of each month.

Youth Weekend Courses (12-16 years)

We also offer weekend breaks for youths where they will be taught the basic sailing skills in a fun and safe environment. Youths are generally taught 1 or 2 to a boat most commonly in the Laser Pico with an instructor coaching alongside in a safety boat. This course is offered the second weekend of each month.
