Hobie Cat / Multi-hull Sailing Courses

New for 2008 Rockley Watersports has joined forces with the Hobie Cat centre and is now offering multi-hull training. We have a range of courses as listed below which we will run on various dates throughout the course of the year. Please contact our office on 01202 677272 to discuss dates and to make a booking.

Taster Courses - £35
A 1 hour introductory session for the complete beginner. You will be shown the basic skills and experience the thrill of sailing a catamaran.

Catamaran Conversion Course - £140
This 1 day course is designed for the monohull sailor or windsurfer who already has a sound knowledge of sailing and wishes to transfer their skills on to a catamaran.

Start Sailing (RYA Level 1) - £245
a 2-day course for the complete novice who wishes to take up the sport. During the course you will receive tuition on a number of aspects including launching, recovering, tacking, gybing, ponts of sail, trapezing and capsize, along with all the other relevant aspects of safety and theory. On completion of the course you will have a sound knowledge of the basic techniques of sailing a catamarn in moderate conditions

Basic Skills - (RYA Level 2) - £245
This 2-day course is aimed at the sailor who already has a good basic knowledge of sailing whether mono or mulit-hull. Instruction will cover rig tuning, equipment theory, sailing the boat in a wider range of conditions, helming on the wire, improvement of tacking, gybing and capsize recovery techniques, responsibilities of helm and crew, introduction to coastal sailing, tides, charts and compasses. By the end of the course you should be confident in a variety of conditions.

Sailing with Spinnakers and Advanced Boat Handling - £295
This advanced course takes place over 2 days and will improve your existing techniques whilst introducing some new ones, including improvement of helming on the trapeze, asymmetric spinnaker handling, advanced rigging, introduction to class racing, planning longer trips and sailing more technical catamarans. Maximum of 2 persons on this course.

Personal Tuition - Fastrack - £45ppph
If you have a few areas that need improvement then personal tuition guarantees you an instructor and a boat to yourself. (Minimum session - 2 hours)
