Adult RYA Dinghy Sailing Courses
Rockley Watersports offers dinghy sailing courses from RYA beginner level through to intermediate level at our UK based centre in Poole. All our sailing courses follow the RYA modules and are run by fully qualified RYA Instructors.
Our 3 and 5 day adult beginner and intermediate course run every week, however please check availability before making a booking.
Adult RYA Beginner Sailing Course
During our RYA Level 2, 5-day sailing course for beginners you will learn about the points of sail, boat control and balance and will become familiar with both helming and crewing. Adults will be taught in our two- or three- handed Wayfarer dinghies with RYA qualified Instructor in the boat to help you learn the rudiments as quickly and safely as possible. Once you have gained in confidence the Instructor will teach you from a safety boat. This course is also offered over 3 days.
Adult RYA Intermediate Sailing Course
The intermediate sailing course or RYA level 3 focuses on improving your boat handling skills as both helm and crew as well as towards or achieving the RYA Seamanship and/or Day Sailing modules. This covers skills such as handling the sailing dinghy safely and competently in higher wind conditions and performing manoeuvres such as man overboard and coming alongside.
For those who book the 3-day course you will aim to achieve the Seamanship Skills certificate.
