Powerboat Beginner Course

RYA Powerboat Level 1 and 2 Course
Our 1-day powerboat course includes basic seamanship skills such as handling the boat safely under power in a variety of situations.

Our 2-day course incorporates the above skills and you will also spend time practicing manoeuvres such as coming alongside and man overboard. Some high-speed work will also be undertaken. The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course will enable you to achieve the International Certificate of Competence that is often needed when boating abroad. It is also a requirement for most kinds of work involving powerboats, from the RSPCA to the Coastguard.

Experienced drivers are welcome to join us for the second day of a course, when we will assess competence and issue the appropriate certificate. The RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate is required by Dinghy Instructors, Windsurf Instructors and most sailing clubs for those on Safety Boat duty.

We run our 2-day Level 2 course twice a week over a Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday.
