Powerboating

In the UK, we offer the full range of RYA courses, from your very first introduction to powerboating, to advanced navigation and offshore qualifications - you could even become a powerboating instructor. Whether you use powerboats for leisure or in connection with another activity such as sailing or rescue, we have a powerboat course for you. We have enormous expertise in driving and teaching in powerboats and as a result we teach a variety of powerboat courses every week of the year including the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course at least twice a week throughout the year, which are generally run over a Thursday and Friday and a Saturday and Sunday. These courses are aimed at taking you from basic seamanship skills and boat handling to the more advanced manoeuvres at high speeds.

RYA Powerboat Level 2

Includes basic seamanship skills such as handling the boat safely under power in a variety of conditions and you will spend time practising manoeuvres such as coming alongside and man overboard. Some high speed work will also be undertaken, generally outside the harbour.

RYA Powerboat Level 1

Our 1 day course includes basic seamanship skills such as handling the boat safely under power in a variety of conditions and is an ideal introduction to the pleasures of powerboating

RYA Safety Boat

This course trains competent powerboat drivers in fleet rescue and the techniques required when rescuing small craft. It is useful for those wishing to assist with rescue cover at their sailing club and is also a pre-requisite for the RYA Senior Instructor course.

RYA Powerboat Intermediate

Our Intermediate course concentrates on developing your boat handling skills and includes navigational and passage planning work. By the end of this course you will be expected to be able to complete a short passage by day.

RYA Powerboat Advanced

The Advanced Powerboat course covers high-speed navigation and handling of powerboats in coastal waters, it also includes a night exercise.
